Seminal? Groundbreaking? Much-imitated?All of those things, of course but this brilliant album is always in demand and rightly so. Two of the ultimate Floyd tracks, Astronomy Dominé and Interstellar Overdrive open sides 1 and 2 respectively and the remaining tracks are all very strong.
This is a first pressing with blue / black labels, 'sold in UK' text and matrix numbers XAX 3419-2 AND XAX 3420-1; the centre hole shows signs of a little wear. The name of the only previous owner, Keith Worthington (r.i.p.) has been written onto the side 2 label but in black ink so can only be seen when held under a strong light. There is a small mark on side 1 track 1 which can be heard for several revolutions. As might be expected on a record of this age and popularity there are numerous surface marks but these do not sound. Overall the vinyl retains a very nice sheen. The inner sleeve is a standard EMI issue with the gallery of other EMI artists album sleeves. The owner's name and LP title have been written on one side but are small and unobtrusive.
The cover has a flipback sleeve. The front cover retains its laminate finish with just a trace of ringwear. The rear cover has the owner's name written in the bottom right hand corner but again, in small lettering.
Overall a wonderful album in fine condition and at the price, an absolute bargain.
