"Rosie" was the first of 3 Top 30 UK chart entries for Partridge in the year Feb 1968-February 1969. There was undoubtedly a visual novelty in his act - had there ever been a one-man band on Top Of The Pops before? Jesse Fuller, the aged American blues player performed as a one-man band and did visit the UK on at least one ocasion, I believe, but never troubled the charts.
"Rosie" is a charming pop song with wistful vocals and sympathetic chord sequences and is highly recommended for those unfamiliar with Partridge's output. This issue comes in an original red Columbia sleeve and both A-side and B-side "Going back to London" are in very acceptable condition.
