1965 release of the Ed Cobb composition which Brenda Holloway immortalised on Tamla in 1964. There were few more soulful male singers than Steve Winwood and he gives a creditable account of himself on this issue, which was the third 45 issued by the band, reaching #41 in the UK charts. The song was also covered by numerous other artists including The Small Faces and, surprisingly to me, The Clash! Sadly the record appears to have been lightly skimmed but both sides sound fine. Will endeavour to find a Fontana company sleeve. Interesting footnote is that the B-side is credited to 'S. Windward'.
