Brilliant double-sider from The Stones, both "The Last Time" and the flip "Play With Fire" were recorded at RCA's studios in Los Angeles in January 1965. The A-side was actually the first commercial single release of a Jagger / Richard composition and the record reached #1 in the UK singles chart in March of that year.
The flip was credited to Nanker, Phelge, the pseudonym for a whole group composition. Phil Spector contributed to the production (on both sides) and played bass (actually a down-tuned 6-string electric) on "Play With Fire", along with Jack Nitzsche on harpsichord and tam-tam (a gong).
The record has surface marks but plays well, the sleeve has title, artist and former owner's name on the company sleeve.
